I am trying to install zend optimizer on a new server and seem to be getting an odd error.... I have followed the guides and one step says I have to cd: /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild and then follow that with some other steps. However when I try I get the following back

/usr/local/directadmin/custombuild: No such file or directory

I cannot seem to get zend optimizer installed because of this. Anyone got a clue please?

thanks
Carl

thanks very much for the reply. It is a new install on a brand new server. I will follow the link you sent me and try and install custonbuild and then see what happens.

thanks again

Is directadmin already installed? If not, you need to install it first, of course if you're going to use it.

If you do not use directadmin and aren't going to use it at all, then you do not need custombuild. You should follow a different guide, because custombuild is a script to install and update software in terms of using with directadmin only.

Interesting note: Some dedicated server and vps vendors are installing from old DirectAdmin templates which still install customapache.

My recommendation is to not deal with these companies; who knows what out-of-date stuff is on their networks, or on your server, which could be used to bite you.

And if you're one of those companies, my suggestion to you is to use updated DirectAdmin templates.
