Hello Guys,

On one of our server we are unable to reach the directadmin Login screen however we are capable of pinging the IP Address and when we use an ssh client we can see that all the services such as httpd etc are all still running!

We have rebooted the server twice in the hopes that this would resolve this issue but not luck!

Also the sites contained on this server are not accessible (obviously) and i can also confirm that apache is not running correct despite the ssh telling me that the service is still running.

All "Helpful" advice and sugestions will be received with gratitude and thanks!

Remove your ip address from the blacklist file /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ip_blacklist

Hello Guys,

I checked the ip_blacklist and it was empty. Many thanks again SCSI, Hostpc.com and Floyd. I still don know why i cant access the directadmin control panel (not even login page) but your advice has helped me narrow the problem down!

Thanks! Guys like you are what make forums great!!

Still working on this issue and as usual any advice or suggestions are more than welcome!

Kind Regards,

Ash

Give us a link to the login screen so we can determine if it a problem with just you access the server or everybody.

Hello,

I have already tried to access the server from different nodes outside the server and I'm still not able to access the control panel:confused:! Thanks for your help

But I have not. Pardon me if I don't trust the person having the problem. That would not be very smart of me in diagnosing a problem. I prefer to try things myself.

Hello Floyd,

Thank for your input but i think putting link to login screen might cause more problems than it would solve! I know it sucks but really i can understand why the team say i can't do that! However if we were to work under assumption that the login screen was not accessible what would be your next move?

I thinking of trying to upload the admin back up!

Thanks again for your support and input!

Keep in mind this could take you down the wrong path since I cannot try it myself.

First thing make sure that port 2222 is open in both the server firewall and your own local network firewall. Checking local network firewalls can be hard if you do not oversee the entire network. There could be multiple firewalls in place.

Many times a server install will install a firewall with default settings which do not allow port 2222.

Again without other people being able to check your server for you we cannot tell you if the problem is with the server or your own network.

already tried to access the server from different nodes outside the server

Do you know that all of those nodes allowed port 2222 traffic? If you don't then that test is pointless. I have complete control over my own network and know what I can and cannot do.

Is directadmin even running?

Hello Floyd,

Thanks for the advice will take awhile to check if all the ports are configured correctly! But have already began the process will keep you informed as to how I get on!

Kind regards,

Ash6677bsc

PS. Thanks again for your input!
