Help! I've been maintaining a site for our club for the last year using FP 03. Never had any issues until about a week ago. The club had an offroad trip and wanted to upload a new photo album to the site. I built the album and uploaded. No problems. Then a few days later, they brought me more pictures to upload and the problems began. Nothing has changed in my computer or software. The error or problem is when I go to my remote site page, it works and works then I get the error "425 Unable to build data connection: connection timed out". I also tried just to connect through wise FTP and same issue, could not connect. I also went to another location / not home and tried through a different router and no luck. I've submitted a tech support ticket and had no responses. Anyone, please help!

Thanks
Jeff

You need to check with your hosting company. Microsoft FrontPage is no longer supported by Microsoft. If your hosting company is still supporting it then perhaps they can help you.

Thanks! I have 2 support request tickets in to them and had no response in the last week. I've been using FP on the same server for the past year without issue.I have another server for another site I maintain and I can upload to it just fine. Guess I'm at the mercy of their support team at this time. :(

You are. Or perhaps you're at the mercy of old technology. Microsoft announced the end of support several years ago and don't even license it for use on servers anymore. I suppose that technically we're supposed to remove it but as for me I'm taking advantage of the vagueness of their announcements, and I'm still leaving it on the servers where it was originally installed, as long as it works.

While currently some of our users are still using FrontPage Extensions on some of our servers, not all of them have it, and if it breaks we won't try to fix it. It's a technology whose time has come and gone.
