I'm testriding my new server. I must say, I'm am no linux-professional.

I can connect (and receive mail) to "virtual" mailboxes ([email protected]), but not to "real" mailboxes (da_username).

Whether my login is da_username, or [email protected], does not make a difference.

Perhaps I need to mention that I connect to the mailserver with an IP-adres (still have to change nameservers of my domain).
Maybe also the fact that imap is not active on my server. Squirrelmail refuses to connect and the server doesn't recognise xinetd as a service. Port 143 is closed ....

Everything else on my server works....

/var/log/maillog isn't really a help...:
Apr 27 19:59:48 r1k4s31 vm-pop3d[7926]: User 'admin' - failed auth, from=xxxxxxx
Apr 27 19:59:53 r1k4s31 vm-pop3d[7926]: Socket closed from xxxxx

In Outlook, I get: "Response from server: -ERR Bad Login"

System information:
Fedora 5 (2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp)
Directadmin 1.26.6
Exim 4.61
vm-Pop3d 1.1.7f-DA-2

I hope someone can help me fast. My admin-account is already more than 1.5 MB large due to mails from cron, and I need to resolve my site to this new server quickly, the old one is eating dust.

Thanks

I did upgrade on pam, vm-pop3d ... and it doesnt work, please help me ... maybe i doesnt have something installed?
