Unable to create email forwarder for an alias

Hi,

I have added a domain as an alias, but I am not able to create an email forwarder for the same.
There's no dropdown to select the domain I've added as an alias. Its only showing primary domain. What am I missing ?

Hello,

Aliased domains share all email accounts and settings from the main domain. You can't have them separate in this way. You will need add domains as regular domains if you need separate email accounts and settings. Web-content in this case can still be shared.

Hi,

I mean in cPanel we can park domains and then for those parked domains we can have forwarders or email accounts etc.

But in DA I’m not able to create a forwarder when I have added the domain as a pointer/alias.

I then ended up removing the pointer and creating a separate account for it.

In DA this is done automatically, at least to the same e-mail address.

For example, you have example.com as main domain.
Then you have pointer.com as pointer.

Now all e-mails send to [email protected] will be automatically delivered to [email protected] with the [email protected] in the to field, but if you reply, it will be from [email protected].

So for matching e-mail addresses the forward will be done automatically.
But it's indeed not possible to create a [email protected] mail address.

Thanks for the reply, just so that I understood it correctly, I first need to have [email protected] as forwader or email account ?
Secondly, I want that if any email is sent to [email protected] then it should goto [email protected] or [email protected] etc. How to do that ??

Yes. At least if that also works with a forwarder. Never tested that, but since it works with e-mail I think it will also work with a forwarder.

In that case create a forwarder called [email protected] and forward it to [email protected] or [email protected].

Be aware that hotmail can be difficult with forwarders sometimes, also if it comes from normal email addresses.
