Am new to DA. Here's what I'm wanting to do.
Many of the domains I host I maintain all of their DNS,etc. under my administrative user.
One domain I have set up where they have a reseller account with a user panel login. For that account I want to set up another user who only has access to managing the mailing list.
The problem is I can't seem to create this new user. Whenever I do it gives me an error and says the domain already exists.
I don't see anywhere else in DA or the domain's user panel that I can do it.

You cannot set up multiple administrators for the same domain with DirectAdmin.

The DirectAdmin model allows one site administrator who can manag multiple domains. That site administrator is called the "user".

DA does not allow you to have a "user" who can only manage a mailing list.

The only way I could see to do that with DirectAdmin would be to use a third-party mailing list manager, such as Mailman.

If you know of any Hosting Control Panel that allows what you want please bring it to my attention; I'd like to study how they've done it.

Thanks. Hmmm, well that is unfortunate. Can't trust the person managing the mailing list to also have access to DNS and other information, to not mess something up.
Can't believe someone has not developed a control panel to allow different users to login with different access rights... All they need to do is maintain the mailing list, I do the rest.
Maybe I've come to expect too much from all the years I was a network administrator, where functions like this have long been standard.
I'll take a look at the other mailing list software and freeware third party ones out there.

Once a majordomo mailing list is set up there's close to nothing that can't be done through email commands.

We ran mailing lists for clients for years and we never gave them server access; only access to the list-owner-info file which explains how to manage a list through email commands.

See the sample list-owner-info file here.

And read How I Manage 17 Mailing Lists Without Answering "-request" Mail, written by Brent Chapman in 1992, and still useful 13 years later.
