I've seen reference to this problem but no clear solution.

I've created a new domain bwp.net with user bwp

Default email is [email protected]

I can send email from this account but I can't recieve any.

If I setup a forward, it will forward the message otherwise it just bounces.

Every default account behaves this way.

Email header from an test message sent from this account,

This was fixed with help from DA support.

My mistakes were as follows,

I set the hostname in exim.conf to somthing other then what I had set in DA.

If your default domain is example.com and you want to use [email protected] as an email addres, you have to change the hostname in DA to www.example.com or anyhostname.example.com . Just make sure you have an A record for it in your DNS and it resolves.

If in trouble continues, re-read http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=16
