Updating DirectAdmin

Is there a way to keep certain configuration files when updating DirectAdmin? Last time I ran an update the zone config files were overwritten as well, meaning new customers were not in our secondary DNS an MX records.

I doubt these files are changed often.

Is there a proper solution instead as just copy the files back from a backup?

How did you update? Which OS distribution are you using?

I ask because we haven't had the problem.

The update was done through the admin panel of DirectAdmin. OS is FC2.

getUP: have you placed the configs in the custom dir ?
If that's the case, something is wrong, if you didn't than that's the problem.
