User creation prob

Well the problem is actually 2 fold.

I wanted to create a new user on a different HD so I used johns instuctions here:

Now this did indeed cause the new user to be created on the other hd (/bkup/home/)

everything looks good in DA but nothing works. First problme was trying to get the welcome email (never happened) then i tried to visit the site using http://ipaddy/~uname and got a not found page.


Anyone know whats going on? Things look normal from within DA and the users httpd.conf file has the correct paths from what I can tell.

Have you tried restarting named and apache just in case?

And do the logs have anything helpful?

Yeah restarting didnt do any good. Also its not updating bandwidth usage or diskusage for the new account either. Not sure what is going on.


I pressed the update button on the user level stats thing and no joy there either.

Did some testing all new users I create are borked in this way no matter what drive they are on.

What logs were you intrested in?

/var/log/exim/mainlog

says wierd things like SIZE=2878: host mail.charter.net [209.225.8.224]: 553 #5.1.8 Domain of sender addr
ess <[email protected]> does not resolve

thats just for the welcome emails etc though.
