This User with the domains ABC.com & 123.ABC.com has a problem where all the mails from the server are coming from mail.123.ABC.com where ofcourse they would like to have the mails coming from mail.ABC.com What am I overlooking?

ea:
User: One user
2 domains: company.com and test.company.com (not a subdomain, but installed as different domain)
all mails from this user are sent from mail.test.company.com

Any thoughts?

Yes, nowadays there is no reason anymore to install a subdomain as different domain, as subdomains nowadays have their own public root folder and can even be customized.

Suggestion: backup the files, delete the seperate subdomain as domain, create it again as subdomain with custom root folder and put back the files and it should be fixed.

Richard, actually issue has been solved partly. Mails are now coming from 'top of the list' of the added domains to this user, I think alphabetically sorted. So now these mails are coming from 'mail.company2.com' and I am wondering if I am able to select somewhere what the major domain of a user is... I think I have added 'company.com' at installation of this user, but this is not followed by DA. I must say that this installation has been done a long time ago... so maybe something that happened during one of the many updates of DA. Where can I find the used 'major' or 'first' domain for this user? Is this a setting? config?

So if I understand correctly, mails are coming from your subdomain now as main domain, but you want to have your main domain as first?

If all is well, in the domain setup you should only see the main domain, unless you created another domain in there yourself.
You can select the desired domain and then on the right hand side select the "set as default" option.

Or is this not what you mean?

Richard, in all the years (happily) using DA I have never seen and used this option...:) Thanks and testing!

Don't worry, it has also been in the Enhanced, them, i don't know for how long, but I also discovered it only a few years ago. ;)
You're welcome!
