There is a support mailing list for vm-pop3d which I am pretty sure is what Directadmin uses. Everytime I try to subscribe to the list it rejects my email saying my IP is in a dialup pool. Its an AT&T IP that comes with our T1's and its not in any dialup pools. I try to subscribe a Yahoo email account and its simply ignored. Anyone else have any better luck with that list? Anywhere else to ask technical questions about vm-pop3d?

Thanks. I just successfully subscribed.

You don't give us your IP#, so we can't check it for you. You can check it here. Just type in your IP# in the top box, and click on "Submit" and you'll find out which list if any your IP# is on.

Many mailing lists don't allow subscriptions from anonymous webmail companies. It's just too easy to sign up to send spam. That's just one reason we run a webmail company that everyone does allow email from (because we know our users, have strict anti-spam guidelines, and charge a nominal yearly fee for the service).
Anyone else have any better luck with that list?
It works for me.

My IP appears to be listed in BLARSBL. Looks as if they listed a large chunk of AT&T space. Any clues how to get unlisted? Not even sure if thats the blacklist blocking me vm-pop3d list.

It's the only list you're on.

But I'm on it, too; I think just about everyone is.

So I don't think that's the reason.

This is what it tells me:

SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:
host lists.kmv.ru [217.13.212.5]: 550 5.7.1 <[email protected]>... Mail fom dialup rejected

I don't suppose you could forward this to "vm-pop3d-users" if your on the list?

What I was wandering is if vm-Pop3d could be setup so if authentication
fails with the first attempt to check email append "@myfirstdomain.com" to
the username and if that fails instead append "@myseconddomain.com"? We are
moving from an old server that only used the username to a new
Directadmin.com box that requires that entire email address be entered.

Anyone know if that is possible? Also, is it possible to lowercase all
usernames when authenticating? This was possible with Qpopper.

"popper [-b bulldir [-c] [-d] [-e login_delay=nn,expire=nn]
[-k] [-s] [-t trace-file] [-T timeout] [-R]

-c Downcases user names. This permits users to
configure their clients with user names in UPPER
or MiXeD case, and still login, assuming their
actual user name is all lower case."

Thanks for your help.

Matthew,

I'm busy enough now that I can't volunteer to sit between you and any list.

I'm sorry that just doesn't work for me.

What I can do is:

If you'll be kind enough to form a letter to the list-owner of the list (complete with his/her address, and yours), I'll be happy to forward it to the list-owner for you.

Then perhaps the list-owner can help you get your inability to subscribe straightened out.

Edit: Let me add that it appears to be avery slow list.

I joined on July 31st. Since then there's been one post, exactly a week later. No reply as of yet.

Don't blame you.

Hmm, perhaps its not worth it. Trying to think of another way to get aroung this.

Thanks.
