Webmail can admin log in as user

Hi all,

I seem to recall reading in a post here, that it is possible to log in to a user's webmail (squirrelmail for example) with your admin password.

I can't find that post anymore, but can anyone confirm / explain this? Or is this only for DirectAdmin itself?

What I remember is that you would log in with

admin!<user>

and your admin pass. (but this doesn't work).


The reason I ask is that there is no "log in as <user>" option like for the DA accounts.

I don't know where you've read that and I believe it's not possible. You can log into DirectAdmin this way:

Username: admin|username
Password: adminpassword

but I don't believe you can do anything similarly with Squirrelmail or any other email client, as POP3 and IMAP servers don't know anything about user admin.
