webmail inbox empty

i have a user that complains his inbox from his webmail page is emptied, and he didn't delete any msg.
Is there some sort of autodelete or something like that for msgs older then x days. Is webmail activity logged somewhere?

I didn't empty any mail directory
Personally i think they moved the msgs to the trash accidentaly, and they got deleted after logging out, but i can't prove it
 
Nope. Webmail is not deleted after a certain period of time, unless the user was able to configure it through the webmail program itself.

Usage is logged, but that would not delete messages.
 
Is your user using UebiMiau (webmail) or Squirrelmail?

Is the user using only webmail, or webmail and his/her own local email client?

For both UebiMiau and for Squirrelmail, if you use a local email client, and do NOT have it set to leave messages on the server, then when you read email locally all email in the inbox will disappear from the web, but mail in the other web-accessible boxes should still be web-accessible.

is this also the case when forwarding to a private mailadress is ON? Because a user of webmail his inbox is emptied each time he opens his private mail.
