not sure if this is beucase installed the webmail plugin to add horde (dont think so)

ERROR:
Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
Server replied: 550 Verification failed for <[email protected]>
Unrouteable address
Sender verify failed

but im having a problem when a da user tryes to send an email from webmail the message above gets displayed and the message fails to send.

its fine for any extra email accounts that are on their account and email though pop3/smtp works but webmail doesnt for the primary da login email account.

Try changing the from address to the server domain. For example if the hostname is sever1.mydomain.com then use [email protected]

That fixed a similar problem I was having with squirrelmail.

Go into the webmail options and set your 'From' email and name. It will stop showing that error afterwards.

in the webmail itself? i really need to do it server wide becuase its any 'Main' account e.g the one created by da when the user is made,.

I don't know of any other workaround. Hopefully the resident email guru, jlasman can help us out on getting a more permanent solution, such as allowing email addresses from the server hostname to work or something.

I'm very busy these days and don't guarantee I can answer everything posted on the forums.

That said, I just read the thread twice and maybe it's because I can't concentrate on it or something, but I really don't know what's being asked of me.

Please ask a specific question.

Thanks.

Jeff

speciflicy

the email accounts created by directadmin

e.g if your da username is john,

and your domain is john@[email protected]

[email protected]

cannot send an email from webmail he gets the error i posted in my first post

which is

ERROR:
Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
Server replied: 550 Verification failed for <[email protected]>
Unrouteable address
Sender verify failed

however if he made a second address such as [email protected] that one works fine.... but [email protected] wouldnt

if u really need an examble with real addresses lmk and ill pm you

You may want to try what I suggested HERE It is a slightly different problem, but if you have sender verfiy, and the domain is local, it will try to verify the mailbox. That fix should allow both system and virtual users to be verified. This may not be the problem you are having, but it shure wouldn't hurt to give it a try. That is what I have in my exim.conf and my main account is a system user.

seems to work sortof execpt its not showing the correct from address

[email protected]

although reply works ok... although it would be nice to have the senders correct domain shown :(

You need to set the reply-to correctly or else it won't work properly.

why do i get the horrible feeling that needs to be done manually on each account... and possibly on each webmail script :(

We also have a server from NAC and when we try to send mails from the primary account, we get username@xxxxxx. ds.nac.net. I am trying to find a workaround/fix. In the mean time, if anyone has a fix for this, my job will be easier :-). Only the primary account has problem and addditional accounts work pretty fine.
