.well-known directory at vhost level

It might be a stupid question.

Developing an Android & iOS app and need to add some .json files to the .well-known directory for verification and stuff.

1. Is it ok to add a physical .well-known to our vhosts;
and
2. If so, will it be left alone for, or even break, Let's Encrypt, etc stuff

Hello Peter,

Only /.well-known/acme-challenge is a server wide alias. So if you use /.well-known/ or /.well-known/anything-else/ for your application, then you should be fine.
