What to use instead of php_value, with suPHP?

As you now might know (sorry for the bunch of topics), I recently installed suPHP on my server. Now I see that you can't use php_value in the .htaccess files, but what can I let my customers use instead, as alternative? Eg. drupal uses php_value quiet a lot. What's the best option?

htscanner is now added to CustomBuild 2.0. It's enabled by default (htscanner=yes in the options.conf file) and is installed if php mode is not set to mod_php.
