What is with the performance of this File Manager? The fact that you have to click a file to "check" it before you can drag it to another folder, or the fact that if you right-click a file somewhere else in the list, it might delete one that you accidentally checked off instead of the one you right-clicked on... it's just amazing how bad this interface is.
Forget the UI for a moment, what is the situation with ZIP files? Why does the file manager insist on previewing the contents of an entire ZIP file before you can extract it? Surely, right-click and Extract should mean.. EXTRACT.. not open, preview and waste a whole bunch of time.
In addition, why are some folders zipped contents partially checked [-] and others aren't at random? To fully "check" the box, you have to first uncheck it, then check it again.. which for some reason takes WAY too long.
Can I make a suggestion? Let the "EXTRACT" option, actually EXTRACT the file or at least give users the option to "Open" the zip file or have the chance to turn off that "preview" functionality entirely... it really REALLY slows down the workflow.
I also have frustrations around the fact that when you're zipping a folder (right-click, add to archive) it decides it's going to put the entire path from the public_html folder, all the way to the final folder.. WHY? That's also very annoying.
I don't remember there being so many frustrations with the previous file manager, but I've been hopping along with this one for now, until I just accidentally DELETED an entire website folder, due to the fact that it was accidentally checked off as a result of me trying to drag it somewhere. Thankfully, I have backups, but damn.. it's way too easy to mess something up and takes way too long to perform simple tasks.
PLEASE do something about this. Also.. it wouldn't hurt to have some of the right-click commands along the top or sidebar..
