Yum PCRE vs CB2 PCRE

I just found out about the "new_pcre" setting in CustomBuild to install the latest PCRE (8.42, released a week ago). I currently have;

Latest version of PCRE: 8.20
Installed version of PCRE: 8.20

But also 8.32 from yum;

Naam : pcre
Arch : x86_64
Versie : 8.32
Release : 17.el7
Grootte : 1.4 M
Repo : installed
Van repo : base

What to do in this situation? By default, what version is used? Can I use "new_pcre" to install 8.42 and don't get any conflicts with the one installed with yum?

I alreday has new_pcre=yes in options.conf, and I never had troubles regarding yum installed pcre. However I am always a little afraid of it, so to be on the safe side, I always recompile pcre in custombuild after there has been a yum update to pcre.

By the way, talking about new and old stuff settings Here are two others (I have not tested if both of them still is needed to get the newest version, I guess old_apr_util might not be needed anymore):
