i've just tried suspend all accounts and enable them again, after that i found some of domains are disappearred.

any idea what's wrong?

when i do locate username, i found the files are still in /home/username, but when i go cd /home/username,
it will tell me No such file or directory

who can help...i've no back up on those websites.

Hello,

The locate command uses it's own cached database, so it will still show deleted files until the database is updated (run updatedb).

If the files are gone, then they're gone.

The suspension runs:

/usr/sbin/usermod -L username

So I'm not too sure how that would delete the account (unless you hit delete by mistake?).

oh, no...

i'm sure i selected all accounts and run suspend, after that there was a message say some accounts can't be suspended...

then later on i came back to check, some of domains are gone...

i die......i will lose quite a number of customers this time...

:( :(

suspention is a longer button.
delete is a short one located at most right side.

i'm sure i hitted the right button. if not, all my domains shall be deleted.

maybe it a bug, maybe you can simulate it..

Deleted reseller

Hello all.
I have done a bad thing. I have deleted, by request, the reseller. Now any member that was under the reseller is gone.
The question is how do i get them back? Is there any chance to restore the lost data in DA?
I have xen running on the machine and th hard drive is virtual. I have tried to recover with TestDisk , but my drive cannot be seen.
Any sugestions?

Best regards,
Cezar.

If you don't have a backup you'll have to stop the drive and send it to company specializing in drive forensics. If it's been more than a few seconds since the deletion, and the system is at all active, it's unlikely you'll be able to recover.

Hello Jeff.
I was afraid of this. I am trying right now scalpel and testdisk. I hope i can get the data at least. I will rebuild the users manually.

Best regards,
Cezar.

my files are lost

I have similar problem.
I have tried to compress some of my files. I am shure that I have pushed right button - compress not delete. During compress process appears error message and all my work of last year were lost. I am shocked! Is it possible to restore lost files?
The problem is that I have lost my websites stored on my hard drive before. This was reason why I tried compress files to save them on my computer, edit and upload again. Now it seems everything is gone.

Please help!

If you don't have enough space on the drive/partition you can lose files during any procedure that rewrites them.

Generally you cannot restore files after deletion. Technically it may be possible (see earlier in this topic) but not if the drive/partition is low on space.

However:

I don't understand this at all. Are you compressing them on your local system? If so, then it's not a DirectAdmin issue. Otherwise, if you're compressing them on a DirectAdmin-based server, then you should still have your local copy.
