Wrong Bandwidth/Disk Stat

Hello,
my clients are getting emails saying:
Code: 
User XXX has used up 81.5% of his/her bandwidth and 32.6% of his/her allocated disk space
looking at the user's Bandwidth (MB) I can see 20768.1 out of 50000, which is closer to 40% than to 80. and the users disk space is closer to 50% than to the 32 in the email.
 
Did you try to find by username, from the shell? Often files aren't where you expect them to be.

Did you check the bandwidth details? That opens up another subwindow in your browser which will show you a breakdown of all data used by the user so far for the current month.

actually, it'd be better for me if I could prevent those emails from being sent, since I have an external system already doing that.

is it possible?
