proper way to change hostname on DirectAdmin server

I've read some posts about this on the forum, but most of them were not so recent.

Could someone tell me what steps are required to do a full hostname change on a DirectAdmin server?

Here's a quote from an email I have in my files from DirectAdmin support:

If you want to change the hostname, do it from the Admin Panel -> Admin Settings. It will call the "hostname.sh" script in the scripts directory which should take care of the change.

It worked for me.

I tried to change my hostname using this way, it says will execute task in 1 minute, but after 1 minute I checked 'Message System' nothing is there. However I tried to ssh my server and I found my hostname is changed, how to double confirm if my server hostname has been properly changed?

You just did, by going via SSH to the server and check the hostname.

Another way is to reboot the server, again ssh into the server, give the hostname command and see if it's still changed.
But normally you can trust Directadmin's script for it.
