Firefox & new DA install login Problem

Hello,
There is a problem I have encountered with a new install of DirectAdmin and the default theme given with DA and Firefox. I can NOT login. I cannot get past the login screen. I have tried this with many different machines in the network here using Firefox and they all have this problem. I also can login with no problem using Firefox with an older install of direct admin. I can login to this new theme with different browsers other than Firefox with no problem. It is only with Firefox. I have attached a picture of the theme that is given with a default new install on Centos 7. I can log into any other install/boxes that I have running the older theme of DA using Firefox.

Please advise. In advance I thank you for your assistance.

I use Firefox and do not have any issues logging into my DA. What exactly is happening? Do you have any ad blockers or plugins that disable or manipulate html/css/etc? Those can easily cause an issue and you should disable them on your DA domain if they are enabled. Do you see any errors listed in the log files located in /var/log/directadmin/* ?
 
I had this once before, but just Saturday installed a new server with Firefox, no problems at all.
However, I also install first with enhanced them.

If you want, you can change the theme to enhanced via directadmin.conf and try to login then. See if that works.

Maybe you can try debugging. Push F12 when on the login page and try to login. You can view the tabs Console and Network. Maybe it displays some notice/warning or error. Browsers nowadays change things with policies around privacy, headers, cookies etc.

I changed the theme in directadmin.conf and I still have the same problem. I am guessing that it is a problem with this DA install and Firefox and not the theme as the problem is still there even when using the new theme. I have attempted logging in as a different user and I still have a quick flash and back to the login screen. I do not get any login error messages except in the log file in var/login/directadmin.

Thanks. No luck with doing F12 in Firefox. I do not get any clues via debugging mode. Thanks Arieh. :)

You're welcome. So if you're using Chrome or Edge, you can easily login?

I had this issue once and had to refresh Firefox at that time.
 
No problem logging in with any other browser. JUST in Firefox. I refreshed firefox and to no avail the situation had not changed. That is also the browser I use for the most part on my Windoze boxes.

I have some issues with Firefox, specially File Manager, when copying/moving files or folders, you can't browse through folders like in other browsers

In the past, I found thread like you about filemanager, Can you confirm on pre-release version that it's working ?


DirectAdmin 1.61.5 has been released

I can confirm it's fixed in the pre-release. That white bar is black now. :) Sub-theme styling for the file manager would be awesome as well though! ;)

Did you take a look at my post to try debug it in Firefox? Also what did you do to find out about the httpd issue? It seems you have been with DA for a long time given the join date on your account, but mostly I read some experiences from a user point of view. Maybe ask DA support if you have support in your license?
 
Hello Arieh, Thank you for your post. I did check out F12 and did mention to you thank you. I did not get any debugging info to lead to error resolution. There is no support in my license. I have gone trouble free for quite a while. I worked with a friend for years who had passed away a while ago in 2015, Jeff Lasman. He had helped me for quite a while and I have not had any problems with my machines for years. The Firefox issue has quietly disappeared since I did a reinstall of direct admin yesterday. I am now able to log in using Firefox. Thank you again for your spirit of assistance.

Glad to hear you got it sorted! :)

What's also worthwhile in cases where browser-specific problems are occuring is to use Incognito / Private Browsing Mode. Not only does this ensure there are no stale caches causing problems, but in the case of Firefox and Chrome for certain, these modes temporarily disable all addons/extensions - some of which can interfere with web pages.

I'm having the same issue. Using Firefox I cannot log in into DirectAdmin. I can log in with Safari.

I'm using Firefox on macOS 11.5.2.
