We are unable to send or receive from yahoo.com. We have no problems with any other mail systems and this includes Gmail and Outlook.
The log error is as below
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 554 Message permanently deferred due to unresolvable RFC.5321 from domain
Our SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are all setup as we know what RFC.5321 refers to.
This happens across the range of our DirectAdmin servers even on different networks.
Could this then be an Exim configuration matter or any suggestions please

Hello,

I doubt the mentioned error relates to receiving emails at your server's side. Though it might be related only to outgoing or forwarded emails. A quick search let me found this page (kindly read the article first):

it states

This is Yahoo doing some extra work to identify that the 5321.From domain1 The return-path, aka the 821.From, 5321.From, or bounce address is the email address you send from at the protocol level, not the email address in the From: header, and it’s the address any bounces will be sent to. of the mail is acceptable to them.

in other words they require an email address in the header "From" to match "Return-Path". It means no forwarded emails with SRS are allowed. Emails generated by the Directadmin panel for admins, users will be declined either, as the "From" address in such emails does not match the one in "Return-Path".

No address spoofing is also allowed, not too sure though. One should test it. I.e. if you authorised as [email protected] then use the same address [email protected] in the "From" header.

Somebody kindly correct me if I'm wrong

Hello zEitEr, I have read the article and still not sure how to resolve the matter. I created an MX record for the sending out hostname such that the sending hostname has a return path for the email. That has not made any difference. We also cannot receive from Yahoo.com. What exactly do I need to do to resolve this and am I the only mail provider suffering from this situation. I am still perplexed .....

That's a completely different case. And reasons might differ. You might consider checking local mail logs for finding clues on why emails from yahoo are not delivered.

If you wait for step-by-step instructions, you will probably have more luck searching them in internet including these forums. If you want other users from these forums to help you, then you might consider posting more details. It is still not clear which emails are declined by yahoo. Are they originated from your server? Are they generated by directadmin? Are they forwarded from other sources? Do you use IPv6? What is about rDNS? SPF? DKIM? DMARC? Did you test sending emails to https://www.mail-tester.com/ (tests are valid for IPv4 only)? Etc...

If you want to troubleshoot it on your own you are highly advised to give as much details as possible.

If you don't want to share details in public you might consider hiring somebody for this, or try and check this page for general recommendations https://senders.yahooinc.com/best-practices/
