Hello.

I didnt found on knowledgebase if there is anyway to send the admin user to user level "on login"
I have some customers that have a little vps. They doesnt matter about "admin" stuff and they didnt found how to create a new mailbox or something like that because they are at "admin level". They have to open a support ticket and we have to remember him that they have to choose "user level" after login.
Is there any way that a admin user goes to user level on default after login?

Regards

Mine remembers the last section you were on.

Set it on User and log out
then log back in
See if it still on user.

I am on EVO theme

Ok... Can I "lock this remember"? This way, DA always remember that admin user was at user level.
In this case, I prefer that admin always logon at user lever and then scale privileges to admin if needed
Same with resellers

and then scale privileges to admin if needed
What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

You are either admin or reseller, or your not, people do not tend to be temporarily an admin or a reseller.
That's where packages and certain options are for in reseller packages and user packages.

If you are afraid that an account get hacked and somebody has admin acces, then only use the admin account if needed and create a user account for normal use. This way you will always log in on "user level" as a user. And if needed, you can always login as admin and then go to the user account and change it or log in to it or whatever.

As for resellers, either maken somebody a reseller or don't. But what you want is not possible.
If you want to create a reseller from a user later on, try this:

This is not the point.
We have shared hosting servers with DA.
Sometimes customers request more resources and we sell them a VPS with a personal DA license that fit for their needs (only one user with all levels) , migrate their user from shared hosting server to VPS and everybody is happy.
This customers know how to work with DA at user level but there is a usability issues because after migration, they have admin and reseller levels that they dont need.
For the "everyday work", they only want to login at user level like before....on a shared hosting server. No worries if they can choose "admin-level" after login and "escalate privileges". I know that we can show them how to work with this new levels, its functionalities and this is what we are doing but..... anyway.... I wonder if there is any way to offer to our customers same control panel experience after login without ay additional learning course (some of our customers dont have a lot of computer skills.. you know) . I mean, we are looking for a way to "the only one user on personal license" always goes to "user level" after login but it can go to admin level if needed (we dont want limit or restrict access level).

Thank you
Regards

As far as i know this is not possible since the default level DirectAdmin will use is the hightest level. (And thus in this case Admin) And if you change level it will rememer it in a cookie/session and not server side.

Personal licenses are not intended for this use and I wonder if they may be sold in this construction. But lets not discuss that part, because I'm not sure and it's not my task.

However a personal license is not invented and created to be used the way you want and do. It's for own personal use (or maybe small company) without support (except forum support), with all access needed, just because the renting person needs to do everything temselves.
This also creates certain limits for using personal licenses.

If you want to sell it that way, you have to teach them how to work with it if you want them to stay out of the admin part.
Another option is make a contract with DA for being able to sell cheap DA licenses for VPS systems, so that way you can give them a reseller account.

I'm afraid what you like to do is not possible and won't be supported on peronal licenses either.

Yes. From a customer point of view, they use their vps server for personal use. We only provide managed vps, the best license that fit their needs and support. I think that we are not doing anything wrong. (please, can somebody from DA confirm?)
We support our customers and teach them about admin and reseller stuff and how to jump to user level after login.... but some customers ask me if there is any way to go directly to user level. They mean, get same panel level that they had on a shared hosting.....
I open this thread only about a "user experience" or "usability" subject.
If this is impossible, its ok

Is your question now answered? If so could you mark this thread as solved? Thanks.

not really. I dont know yet if there is already any way to always send an admin (or reseller) to "user level" or if DA staff are thinking about this.
I guess that with source code its no so difficult to implement. I guess a directadmin.conf keyword and 4 or 5 line codes would do the trick..... maybe be on a future.
I short answer from staff would be fine..... :)
Thank you
