Hi,

Before all: I've searched!

I want to assign a ip to a reseller. I logon as Admin and goto IP Management, assign ip --> reseller. That works. I see it as status free assigned to a reseller.

After that I goto list resellers, select the reseller, goto User's data and select Modify user data. I should now be able to assign the IP, but I only see 2 of the same Ip's as current and shared server, but I want a owned for a certificate.

What am I missing?

Try to login as reseller and take a look at IP Config.

It's there, but I can only select Shared or Free. When I goto userlevel and goto SSL Certificates I then get:

Could not execute your request

Details

You can only add a certificate if you own the ip you are using

As admin assign an IP address to your reseller.

As reseller assign a user to the desired IP address without sharing it. The user 'owns' that IP and can be used for ssl certificates.

OK works, if I create a user, which I hadn't . The reseller itself needed an ip, and hasn't got a user account, they just switched from reseller to user level without a user account other then their reselleraccount.

So without an end-user account it wouldn't work?

I'm sorry to bump such an old thread however it was the best description I could find of what is going on.

I am in the same pickle, my Reseller account has no users however the IP is assigned to the reseller.

How do I change the user level of the reseller account to use the new IP?

You don't do that at the reseller level.

The user level of the reseller account uses the same IP# assigned to the reseller.

You should be able to create a user account using the available IP#.

So the user account would then become the reseller account?

There are no user accounts currently on the reseller account.

The purpose of the user level of the reseller account is so that the reseller can create a site there. That site has the same IP# as the reseller.

You can create users under the reseller account (that's what most of us do), but you'll have to create one or more packages first.

I understand how that works but the site is already there.

Is there a way I can do this without the backup and restore of the site?
