Backup locks DA logins?

I just initiated a backup (reseller one and the admin one) and I see alot of PHP pages not running because it is trying to access some files. I can't log into DA either from the reseller account or a user level either. Just brings me back to login page with message, please check username and password (It is not locking the access though - no ban).

Is this normal during backup time? Wondering if it changes the server to something like read-only temporarily and then switch it back.

The only thing I can do is the shell access with any user.

Please help.

I'm at the server at the data center and After rebooting, something about journaling failed.

(CENTOS 4) Now, it is making me do a manual "fsck"
It says...

ie : Error reading block 14057475 (Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read) while doing inode scan Ignore error<y>? yes
Force rewrtie<y>? yes

It is doing it for many block

It also says...

Inode 13271938 was part of the orpaned inode list. FIXED

Is this harmful or a problem? Why is it doing it? It is because it was produced by interrupting the DA backup task?

I had to get a new disk. The file directory was screwed. Have a backup handy!!!

On new setup again...

I don't believe there's anything you could have done in DA which would have required you to get a new drive. My guess is that the drive went bad, and the rest was just bad timing.
