I have a problem here and I'm not sure where the source is.
When I initiate a Backup in DA, I see a file recorded in the Backup Folder which has UID = root and GID = root.
At some point I may get an email (~50% of times) advising Error creating Backup.
Tracking back on the LINK in those emails I find Error messages such as:
Error connecting to MySQL: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'sending authentication information', system error: 32
Error Compressing the backup file backup-May-23-2010-6.tar.gz : /bin/tar: backup/wenublog.com/email/data/imap/guran/mail/INBOX.Trash: File shrank by 5804308 bytes; padding with zeros
/bin/tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
I can accept "previous errors" as a factor there, as I was Deactivating Plugins to test the impact on the Backup facility. (multiple successive backup attempts)
In the event, overnight I began to get emails (I was personally away while my FTP was Downloading 3 previous Backups dated from before this problem) advising me my Backups were complete.
When I opened DA and looked in Backups, all the 'root' entries had become normal 'user' UID/GID entries.
Latest Plugins have been: Extreme SEO; SI CAPTCHA and TweetMeme. Each of these, particularly the 1st & 2nd, might be 'compounding' data throughput in the Blog. It occurred to me that was a problem - is why I deactivated Plugins.
Am I missing something basic here? The reference to MySQL seemed to indicate a file corruption somewhere but as I say, when I got up this morning several Backup Report emails had come in.
Frankly, I don't trust those backups.
Just now, I initiated another Backup and currently have another 'root' file in the Backup folder, which I suppose will - very eventually, perhaps hours - become a backup.
Also my Bandwidth, indicated in DA, has doubled.
Thoughts please as I am not even skating on ice.
