Cannot Add FTP Users

Ok... problem solved, I have overlooked something... :). The wrong ip address... ugh, how stupid of me. But anyway, thanks for your support... DA support is one of the best out there!

For those who still having problems while done all suggestions listed in this topic (like I did hehe).
If you specify wrong Custom FTP path for this user it will not let you login still saying that this user cannot be found. No log shows that custom directory is wrong, but after fixing this wrong dir to correct one all is fine. Lost quite some hours on this issue. Hope this will help.

OK, Chaps same issue

Hi there,

I have the same problem now.

I quickly got round it as I was having some problems by copying and pasting the user details into the proftp.passwd file form the individual users file.

I dont know if this has anythign to do with it, but I am running AWBS, are any of the other peops having this problem, could it be something happening, or not happening as the case maybe with the calls that makes?

Chris

ps. I would be happy to allow someone from DA to login and take a look? :)

netearth,

Several problems have been discussed in this thread and you don't specificy anything specific.

AWBS shouldn't have anything to do with ftp.

Hi jlasman,

The reasoning behind not quoting anything behind it was I checked out the first work around, which worked, I have now asked our Linux dev/support guru to look into it using this thread and http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=11534&highlight=ftp+login+problems
becuase if I did say something possibly constructive, I would be talking out of my a**.

So once he does (cue Kevin) look into it and tell me whats wrong we will post our solution for other bods to look into.

Chris
