chmodd and making a directory

i cant make a directory or i cant chmod any file in direct admin i get

An error occurred while attempting to create the directory

Details

Parent directory does not allow write, or one of the directories didn't allow search (execution) permission

or



Unable to set file permissions

Details

Unable to chmod /domains/sahat-mawsil.net/public_html/components/com_remository/images to 777

Same my broblem, i can't delete, edit, any file or folder, with details

Unable to delete directory /domains/tinhyeugioitinh.info/public_html/checker. The directory /domains/tinhyeugioitinh.info/public_html/checker is not empty

Set permission levels but cannot work .
Somebody pls help me. thanks .

Mr Jeff can give us more details, i never use Cpanel DirectAdmin before . thank you.

You can't delete an empty directory; you've got to empty the directory first.

If you're sure there's nothing in the directory you want to keep use rm -Rf directoryname instead of rmdir directoryname.

Do you have SELinux turned on? It's not compatible with a hosting server; turn it off.
