Customer domains not found

It has been a monster of a week.

I did a back up of my DA FreeBSD accounts so I could move them to my new Centos 5.5 server. Everything has fallen apart.

1st problem, the back up was corrupted, and for some reason, the MySQL databases are no longer on the old server.

I have to add the account manually and too much data is missing to try and restore everything.

Any ideas?

2nd and most irritating problem, customer websites are not resolving. I can get to DA via hostingus.com, but none of the customer websites that I have added (only a few when I found out they weren't resolving) are showing up on the web. I have seen so many forum posts, and websites that I have no idea where to start after seeing so many pages.

As long as you do an admin level back and restore there should be no problems. Dns takes 24-48 hours to update if you changed ips.

If you have problems restoring then you should post the errors you get from the message system during the restore.

The IP is the same as the old server. The main domain, hostingus.com showed up without a problem, but the customers domains are still not there ie. betterdiver.com and alpha-marketing.com

The restore errors are below:
Error extracting /home/alphamkt/backups/backup/home.tar.gz : /bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.dev'
/bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.ino'
/bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.nlink'
/bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.dev'
/bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.ino'

... The same 2 lines x 50 have been replaced for space saving...

/bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.nlink'
/bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.dev'
/bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.ino'
/bin/tar: Ignoring unknown extended header keyword `SCHILY.nlink'
/bin/tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Yeah I had the same problem when I went to freebsd to centos. The tar thing should fix your problem.

I did an admin restore but the only domain that shows up is hostingus.com .

The rest of the domains are not showing up or resolving. The new server is replacing the old on and has the same IP addresses as the old server as well. In the reseller name server section, it only shows one name server which is 70.88.27.217, but in the admin IP management, it shows both 217 and 218.

I can ping both name servers but a trace route for ns2 shows the same IP as ns1.

A couple of the other domaisn that are not showing are betterdiver.com, alpha-marketing.com, and bentaxe.com.

The server is running Centos 5.5 and I have added listen-on port 53 { any; }; to my named.conf just in case, but there is no firewall running on the server.

Any help is greatly appreciated and seriously needed. :)

For4 some reason, the reseller account is not adding the name servers in the DNS for each domain. Im adding them manually, but this needs to be corrected. Any ideas? As I said before, there is only one name server listed in the reseller area.
