Directadmin IRC Channel

Unless I've missed something there are two competing camps with two competing interests as to which IRC system to use. My opinion is that this issue needs to be resolved first.

You are correct that there are two different IRC channels.....one, #directadmin had activity, and is unregistered, which means there can be no channel operators until it is registered.

The other channel, #directadminsupport is registered and has a channel operator with full founder privleges.

Direct Admin Corporate could lay claim to either channel through a group registration, which Freenode.net tells be could take several months to process.

I have registered the #directadminsupport channel, have offered to Driectadmin Coprporate to maintain it and to add channel operators as required.

From my perspective, DirectAdmin corporate can solve the issue by stating which channel they would consider as official.

If one wants to immediately use a channel that is registered and has the ability to have Channel Operators #direcdminsupport fits the bill. If one insists that #directadmin is the most appropriate name, then the channel can be used with out channel operators.

The argument about which channel is more active is not germane, since there are a very small number of users.

But then, I have a dog in the show, so I have a skewed outlook.

Thanks a lot dougy. I added a bot to the channel that is going to handle the access. The message is simple when people give support I will give them bot rights with voice eventually. So you will have to get them by helping people out. Unless directadmin staff comes around and selects some people.
