DirectAdmin issues after installing on pre-configured LAMP server - SSH down, databases and sites not working

Hi everyone,

I recently had a server with a pre-installed LAMP stack provided by my hosting provider. After that, I installed DirectAdmin on the same server.

Now I’m experiencing several issues:
  • DirectAdmin shows the message: "The service 'sshd' on server is currently down"
  • My MySQL databases are not accessible
  • CustomBuild installation has failed
  • Websites hosted on the server are not loading properly

The server is hosted at Hetzner. I’ve checked that the server is running, but I’m not sure why SSH or the databases are failing.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation where installing DirectAdmin on a server with a pre-existing LAMP stack caused services to fail?
What would be the best way to fix this?

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

It is always advised to install a panel on an empty server so the best way to fix this is to choose an OS for the server and use the option to reinstall the server.
After that, install Directadmin again.

If you have websites on them which you want to keep, then first make a backup of all websites, mail and databases and import them into DA after reinstallation.

Will my existing DirectAdmin license still work if I reinstall the server?
