Sorry if I've missed something obvious. I'm new to DirectAdmin but love it's simplicity compared to what I've come from, Plesk. However there was one feature of Plesk which did exactly what it said on the tin and I'm struggling to find out how to do the same in DA.

I have a domain which is managed elsewhere, I simply offering hosting. I want DirectAdmin to always use the existing DNS settings, so that email sent through the site doesn't get trapped and I don't have to worry about maintaining a mirror of DNS personally.

In Plesk there was a button which simply disabled the local DNS so it forced remote lookups. How can I do the same in DA?

Many thanks everyone.

What you're about to read only works if DNS is turned on for users.

In the user control panel check for MX Records (exactly what it's called depends on the skin you're using).

Uncheck the Use this server option and click Save.

Also remove the MX record.

If you wish you can also, in the admin control panel, remove the DNS zone entirely.

Thanks, only found that once I enabled DNS management for that user. Seems to be working a treat now. Thanks.
