FTP access not working

As far as i know i should just be able to log on to my site using an FTP client and my control panel user name and password. however, I am just not connecting. Any ideas?

You posted under Admin-Level Difficulties. Are you a DirectAdmin control panel administrator? Otherwise you should probably bring this problem to the attention of your hosting company as we can't help you.
