Help!!

I have been having alot of problems but the latest and the worst I have encountered is that when I went in to reset (disable then enable again) my frontpage extension, which I have done before and it seemed to help, but this time I really did mess up, now it will not let me enable my Frontepage extension! So now not only does my web site not work, there is nothing I can do to fix it.

I have left a "support ticket" but not sure if that was the right thing to do either because I have three that are open so I suspect that might be the wrong thing for me to do.

I am pretty new to this so I don't know what to do, where to go, who to turn to. I sent an email to support last evening but I am quite sure they are very busy. I am just wondering, I guess, if anyone else has had this problem and how did you fix it?

Also, some of this stuff is truely "greek" to me, I am disabled and have to take alot of medication, so between that and the constant pain I live with, well it just has made me not as sharp as I used to be. Sometimes I just need a little extra help. Not looking for sympathy, just some understanding.

What is the exact problem? Do you get an error message? That kind of information.

Are you the owner of this server/Do you have root access?
If not you need to contact your hosting provider (which it seems you already have) since they might be the only ones that can fix the problem (depending of course on what extactly it is)

Thanks, Well First here is the message I get when trying to enable frontpage:

Error executing your request


DetailsError setting up your web: Starting install, port: 80. Creating web http://www.dezertdiva.com. Chowning Content in service /. Error: Cannot create folder "_vti_cnf".

I have figured out to go and upgrade my account, and yes I am the owner although my husband had purchased the first package for me.
I have reported the problems in multiple places, please forgive me, but I didn't know where to get answers from, but now I know not to do that. But do you know why all the tickets I have written are still open? Is that the correct place to report a problem? or should I come here first?

DirectAdmin doesn't have a ticket system, if they do they've added it recently.
Simply send an email to [email protected]

Try reinstalling the extensions (rebuilding apache).
Also check the permissions of the directory and parent directories in which the file is trying to be created and make sure they are correct.
 
Who are you opening support tickets with?

I ask because if you're the owner of the server (you said you were) then you should be contacting DirectAdmin for support, and DirectAdmin doesn't have a ticket system.

However if you have an account with a hosting company only the hosting company can resolve your problem.

If you do own the server then someone has to log in as root to the server, and check your folders, their ownership and their permissions.

It appears from a search that your server is owned by Globalcon.net. If you're not the same as they are, then you should probably ask them. If you, then your system administrator should be able to handle the problem.

All is well now!

I want to thank you all for helping, you're great. I am not sure what exactly "fixed" things because I did to many things to be sure of the exact fix. I did send the problem to admin support so they probably got thins working for me, as well as upgrading my account for more disk space. I know this may sound crazy to you guys but I use alot of pics to show off my dolls and the fashions I make for them. Well anyway, again thanks!!!!
