I'm having difficulty to understand a basic fact about transferring domain.
I have a site on dreamhost, trasnferring it to Layered Technologies with DirectAdmin. I followed the instructions for creating name server (http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=130)
Now I have ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com on my box.
If I understand correctly I need to update the whois info with the new name servers ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com to do the actual transfer and propagation.
But it seems illogical that I should just give ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com as the whois information since they contain mydomain.com (the domain I'm transferring), which means nothing because it is not yet hooked to the IP of the new server.
What am I missing here ?
