Ip Management and etc/hosts

Hi,

I don't know how to add server ip to Ip Management.
When I add the ip in Ip Managemenet, Status is "Free". But I want to it shows "Server"
And how can i add my server ip to etc/hosts

The Server IP# is the one that is tied to the DirectAdmin license. So can't just arbitrarily set up any IP# as Server.

If you need to change the IP# in the license, then search for that in these forums.

Why would you add your server IP# to /etc/hosts? It needs to be in DNS for anyone to find your server, so it doesn't have to be in /etc/hosts.

If you really want to add it, you do that manually with any text editor, from a root shell. I don't recommend it, but if you have a good reason please explain .
