Hi,

I was wondering how I can make the following address work as forwarder:
+3162290****@sms.gin.nl

This is a phone number and because of the + the forwarder can't be created.

Thank,
Markoetie

Dear John,

According to http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=982
it says the 'allow leading plus in email names' feature has been added to the 1.337 version. But it doesn't work.

I still get
'String contains an invalid email address: +316229*****@sms.gin.nl'

Alias +316******@****.nl -> ****@****.nl has been created

Here it works perfectly. It doesn't work in "Email accounts" because you requested "email forwarder".

I'm very sure i have version 1.337

DirectAdmin Values
Compiled on Debian 5.0
Server Version 1.33.7
Current Available Version 1.337000

Hello,

Thanks for the report. I had only tested with email accounts, so the forwarders happened to be missed. I've fixed it, available for the next release.

If you need an updated copy with this fix now, just send us an email with the OS version you're using, and I can compile you a binary package.

John

Reawakening this thread because:

Just wanted to point out that DirectAdmin has rejected valid email addresses for several years now. Please see:

http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14537

RFC 3696 says these are valid email addresses:

$!%[email protected]
!#$%&'*+-/=?^_`.{|}[email protected]

The best thing for DirectAdmin to do is essentially accept any email address that Exim will accept. And maybe warn the user that the email address looks invalid.

Trying to add a forwarder for destination [email protected], but DA complains with "String contains an invalid email address:". Can we remove this limit, so users can enter these completely legitimate email addresses?
