OK my scenerio is as follows:

I have 3 clients on 2 separate virtual boxes that are going in on renting a dedicated box that will also be running DA

I have backed up the users files to a local user.tar.gz file using the backup utility, but I am uncertain how to now move them to the new server and unpack them so that they work correctly, and keep the same file structure?

I have tried the FTP but unless I am doing something wrong, I have had no joy ... 'update files' shows nothing ... and clicking save tells me I have selected no files ..

Could somebody please walk me thru it?

thanks

I don't know anything about your ftp client so I can't help you there.

However, I'd backup each user under DA, and use DA to ftp the backups directly to the new server.

Then I'd shell into the new server and move the backups to where they need to be, and restore them from the DA control panel.

I tryed that and I get this:

Unable to execute your command

Details

File is not of type tar.gz: gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file /bin/tar: Read 10061 bytes from /home/rednax/backups/backup-Aug-11-2006-1.tar.gz /bin/tar: Unexpected EOF in archive /bin/tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

I followed EXACTLY what somebody told me to do in another thread ...

create backup on new server to create folder, and delete backup, and then upload the old backup from the old server to the folder ...

I CAN SEE the backup file from the new server backup/restore function, but when I try to restore, I get the above msg :(

username on the new server is exactly same name as on the previous server

if somebody can fix this for me, I am willing to PAY them for their troubles ...

OK ... I am quite desparate now to get these users moved and set up ...

I have tied everything mentioned in the forums to no avail ... it is 3 user accounts I need moved from their existing server (running DA) onto a new dedicated box (also running DA).

If somebody can help me with this, I will pay them for their time/trouble

:(
