Multiple resellers on one IP

On our server we want multiple resellers sharing 1 IP address (D) and one other reseller (say, Alice) having 3 other IP addresses (A,B,C) (preferably, also able to use the single IP (D) of the other resellers).

We've created Alice as a reseller and assigned the main/server IP (A). Now when trying to assign the other (multiple) resellers to 1 single IP (D) doesn't work. When making these resellers they all take their own IP address (B,C,D). When we first give Alice her other IP's (B,C) as well and then start to make the multiple resellers, the first one gets the correct IP (D) but the others refuse to be created as there is 'no free IP anymore'.

On our previous server this did work. One difference there is that Alice didn't had the main/server IP (A), there Alice had IP's B,C,D and the other resellers were sharing the main/server IP (A).

Could that be the problem? If so, is there a way out? We would like to keep Alice on IP A as it is already used by visitors.

Or should this be possible anyway? And can anyone help with how to setup IP's / create reseller (packages) to get this configuration going?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the reply!

How to change that? In the resellers options I can't see anything to do with an IP address.
Only the user (one of the resellers from the multiple ones) which is now on IP D can change to use the 'shared server IP' A. That doesn't help though, it should share IP D.

Maybe some more direct information helps?
The ideal situation would be:
- reseller 'aw' using IP's .73, .74 and .75
- resellers 'site', 'intern', 'school' using IP .76

Currently we've created reseller 'aw' and gave it IP .73, added IP's .74 and .75 to 'aw' as well. Then added reseller 'site' and gave it IP .76. When trying to add reseller 'intern' and it complains there's no free IP left.

The IP administration looks like this:
IP - Status - Reseller
.73 - server
.74 - free
.75 - free
.76 - shared - site

My guess would be that it isn't possible. That we should remove the resellers and start with adding resellers 'site', 'intern' and 'school' first, just giving them the default server IP (.73) and thén adding reseller 'aw' and give it its own IP (.74) and adding the IP's .75 and .76 to him.
But I'd really like to know if it is possible without backup, delete and restore the resellers as the service is already running for users.

I'm probably confused. Make sure the IP#s are shared at the admin level if you want multiple resellers to share the same IP#.

Ha, I'm confused too then.

The IP .76 is in a shared state as far as I now. In the IP management overview that's the status of IP .76. But what I understand from the DA help is that 'shared IP' means that it can be shared amongst multiple users, not resellers.

When I now add reseller 'school' it gets the free IP .74 and when trying to change that to IP .76 (even though that is 'shared') doesn't work; the option is not listed in the 'school' user settings.

Thanks for bearing with me!

To shared an ip among resellers first assign the ip to the admin user. Then go to the reseller level of the admin and share the ip there. Then you should be able to assign that ip to multiple resellers.

Hello! Got same problem. Tried to make like that, but it still doesnt works. I got this message:
Details

Unable to assign the Reseller ANY ips. Make sure to have free, un-assigned ips.

PS: srry for bad english

I tried it too. And succeeded the first time, but after retrying to do it I failed.. Now I can't seem to get it working anymore; while changing the user the IP I want is not in the list, just the current and the server one (both the same).

I now just added everyone to the main server IP as that one is sharable. And (when we go for a next round of changes) we'll remove the 'aw' reseller (the one who should get the multiple IP's) and recreate it so I can get it off the server's IP and directly assign it to one of the other IP's.

I doesn't look like any extra IP can be shared in a full way like you can do with the server IP.
