mysql @ directadmin and a new webhost

hello guys sorry if this is an double post, ....

but i have a serious quiston i want to know about,

i want to buy directadmin next month, but what if i want to use ssl... ??

how do i use ssl with direct admin i know how to make the key, but evry good

guide on google seems not to work for me....

second , i have atm mysql php etc phpmyadmin webinterface,

thirdley what i experinced with directadmin where that i was, unable to make

an user called any host the % with the mysql database in directadmin ...

in phpmyadmin it is just 1 click to make localhost or any host ,

what i need to know is if it is even possible to make the any host when i

make a mysql databse with directadmin when i buy it and get it installed

alsp am i able to use ssl on it ... do i need to install ssl before installing

directadmin licens ...?= sorry for my bad english , i come from denmark

I just did some googling of various DirectAdmin sites, and found:

On DirectAdmin? Of course.

No. directAdmin is installed through ssh, so you need all the libraries, but you do not need a Certificate for the install.

DirectAdmin and phpmyadmin are two unrelated pieces of software. No, DirectAdmin does not do everything that phpmyadmin does nor is it supposed to. DirectAdmin is not a phpmyadmin replacement. In fact when you install DirectAdmin it also installs phpmyadmin.

I don't see why you would not. If you can do it on the old server then you can do it on the new server as long as phpmyadmin is configured the same.

Again, not related to DirectAdmin although DirectAdmin does handle some mysql things but not all. But what DirectAdmin does not do phpmyadmin can do.

I guess the confusion for me is that with your image you showed us that you are able to do it. So I could not really understand your question. You asked if you could do something that you were already doing. If you are doing then obviously you can do it. Your image answered your own question.

DirectAdmin doesn't get in the way of you setting up your MySQL database for access from multiple hosts, but it doesn't help you either. For that you use PHPMyAdmin.

Again its not related to DirectAdmin. This a mysql question. And yes you can do that with mysql. If you don't know how to do it via command line then you can use phpmyadmin as you have already shown us in your image. DirectAdmin can do some mysql stuff but not everything. But it will not hinder you from doing it with phpmyadmin. You have already show us you know how to do it with phpmyadmin. So what is your question now?

You already know how to do that. You showed us the image. Are you confusing phpmyadmin with DirectAdmin? They are both just software running on the server. DirectAdmin can help you configure mysql and whatever DirectAdmin cannot do you can use phpmyadmin to do.

DirectAdmin is not THE server. It is just some software running on a Linux server much like everything else.

FWIW...... You just go to Domain » MySQL Management » Click a database name then you'll see its user, then the Access Hosts will show on that page. I think you can add a % for a host but its a security risk IMO

You can probably use the localhost ip address 127.0.0.1 instead of using the word localhost. I know Magento has this quirk.
