need some help with DB backup/restore

can someone help me with a step by step on how to backup a DB from Cpanel and restore it on DirectAdmin ?

A MySQL database you mean? I believe you could try downloading the database with a mysql frontend and then uploading it, but I don't know how exactly to upload it...

If the database is small you can use phpmyadmin I believe.

i managed to back it up and then restore it using phpmyadmin

its very easy if anyone want anything about thi let me know i will be happy to help :)

The only problem is that this won't work for large databases. I'm currently having trouble with a database which is 50MB in size, and it times out when I upload it normally.

I believe you can upload it using ftp and then using sql -i or something to import it.

am sorry Robert, i dont know much about SSH, what i did was using phpmyadmin for the backup and restore.
are you timingout from the server ??

Yeah, with large databases you're stuck using SSH or breaking them up into smaller chunks and using phpmyadmin.
