Permission denied!!!!

Dear Sir

i have problem in edit or upload files.
i'm receiving error's as follows

the error using FTP client software:

Response:	550 config.php: Permission denied
Error:	Critical file transfer error

the error using DirectAdmin:

An Error Occurred

Details

Unable to open /xxx/xxx/xxx/xxxx.php for writing

Warning: Saved filesize is less than uploaded filesize. Check quotas.
