SOLVED Centos 7: Error build PHP 7.4 & 8.1

Hi,

I tried to install php 7.4 & 8.1 and failed with the same error message :

Please keep in mind php 7.3 installed without problem.

I tried ( https://forum.directadmin.com/threads/error-build-php-7-4.59632/ ):
cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
./build update

No success

Failed too :
cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
./build update
./build icu

After that tried :
yum install libicu-devel libicu-doc

and help to continue to next step

Next error was

Any idea ?

PHP errors started after my try to switch from nginx_apache to openlitespeed and changed
php from php-fpm to php_mode lsphp for all php
./build update
./build set webserver openlitespeed
./build set mod_ruid2 no
./build set php1_mode lsphp
./build set php2_mode lsphp
./build set php3_mode lsphp

After that crashed php 7.4 & 8.1 and not worked at all

I performed roll back to nginx_apache and php-fpm and working only php 7.3

It simply means there are no customers using php 7.4, this the service is not started.
 
why so many errors any idea ?
I have a website now and php-fpm74 seems problematic BUT site working

I receive also messages New Message: The service 'php-fpm74' on server srv.mysrv.gr is currently down and the site is not working at all

Not sure if it's related since we're using Debian 11 as OS, but after a routine PHP (minor 7.4) upgrade yesterday we're having issues as well with the PHP service not starting. I don't see any issues in the logs, the service tries to start but eventually times out and fails:

Did you try re-building PHP with the latest version of CB? If not, try:

Thanks for checking, I've created a seperate thread (https://forum.directadmin.com/threads/build-php-hangs-cannot-upgrade.66779/#post-351082), not trying to derail this one, because after troubleshooting I don't think it's the same issue. I'm not having build errors, the build process just hangs and php-fpm services are not activating properly, so it's probably systemd/service related.

Having the same issues. Build update does not update custombuild to the latest version and PHP keeps failing.
I've manually updated custombuild and the php rebuild is currently running but it doesn't look wel

nope, rebuild did not do a thing.
I've tried disabling opcache in the 10-directadmin.ini, but that did not work.
Now recompiling php 81 with opcache completely disabled in the options.conf.

edit 2:
After disabling CURL in options.conf and recompiling php everything went back to normal.
Now WHY this suddenly became an issue is up to DA support imho :)
