Somethings wrong here

ok thank you for all of your help. I will reply to this a little later to let you know the status.

Ok.

PS. Did you really only get 1 IP address with your server? You should have at least 2 in order to do dns.

did you see the info i sent in the pm there were 3 there i am just not sure what the others besides the base ip are for

Yes, but I think they are the nameservers your server must use if it needs to lookup domainnames itself (but I don't know that for sure). I'm trying to find the website of the provider from which your rent your server. Maybe I can find more on their website on how to configure their servers and maybe if these two ip addresses are for any other purpose.
Is it ValueWeb.com?

Assuming it's indeed Valueweb:

I searched their website. As far as I can tell it appears you do get only 1 ip address and you are given 2 options to make DNS work.
The first option is to use their ns1.primarydns.com and ns2.primarydns.com as primary and secondary nameservers in which case you wouldn't use the nameserver on your own server at all.
The second option is to use your own server as the primary nameserver (ns1) and use ns2.primarydns.com as the secondary nameserver.
In either case you'll have to go to the valueweb website and login to their controlpanel. There should be an option there to create dns zones for domains you host on your server. You would have to go there for each domain you host on your server and manually create a dns zone for each one. I can't login to their control panel myself because I don't have the access code so I can't tell you exactly how that works but I assume it's probably not that difficult. Have you been given access codes for their controlpanel? And if so, have you created dns zones for your domains yet?

There is also a "How to" on their website. Go to www.valueweb.com and in the top right click "Support". In the fourth block in the middel, below "Dedicated Support" click "FAQs and Article Search". On the right, below "Hot Topics", click "How do I add a domain name to ns1.primarydns.com and ns2.primarydns.com?". You may also want to read the article "What are the procedures for submitting a domain for DNS?" (do a search for the word DNS).
