Hi,

I went through the process of ordering a StartSSL. However i accidentlly clicked on requesting the cert again. This changes the system CSR.

i went to root /etc/../ssl.csr/ and try to edit server.csr , however i see:

THIS FILE HAS TO BE REPLACED BY A REAL SERVER CERTIFICATE SIGNING REQUEST! (SKI$

How can i have my old CSR to be replaced with a new one?

Please help as it will cost me another $$ if i request again.

Thank You

The CSR and the private key are a matched pair.

The private key and the cert are a matched pair.

Once you create a new CSR you've created a new key as well, and the new key will NOT match the cert created with the old key.

Most Cert companies (including us) will reissue a cert within a reasonable time frame if this happens, even though it's arguably not their fault.

Have you contacted their customer support team?

tried contacting them but they don't seems to help. ::(

I think i will just re buy one.

So this time it means that i have to make sure once i get the CSR, i should not request again. right?

Thank You

Contact me at my email address below; we can probably get a StarterSSL reissued for you.

And yes, you should not request again after you get the CSR.
