Yes, I've mailed them :) They aren't planning to include the new webmail system as soon as possible, because they have much more important things to do...

Thank you for voting :) As more we will vote as more exact results we will have. As a result we'll have a webmail system as we want. Thanks again.

I think, that goos idea is to include to DA OpenWebMail...
I worked with it... IMHO, it's very good, even converts Outlook addressbook, that vary useful for end-user.

Oh that could be for support.

Since I've installed it though I didn't have a problem yet.

RoundCube should be as a rounducube.sh in /usr/local/directadmin/scripts really soon now :) Maybe a new structure for the webmail will be as well.

Firstly,

I wish only one email system was ever in place. Many of my users would switch from one to another thinking they would have the same folders and info in both (as if they were only interfaces. So just for having two to choose from, is a pain in the ass for me.

Now, I think both Uebimiau and squirelmail suck, compared to others I've seen, and have tested like Roundcube.

Uebimiau's site is dead. When you switch to any other language than English, the forms get screwed up.

I would rather have a Roundcube in beta version, than a Uebimiau that SUCKS, and doesn't work, and have no faith it will ever get better.

I have many clients that come from other panels that have used Horde, and some could not live without it.

RESUMING:

Please , whatever system you choose, JUST HAVE ONE, and have one that works and is elegant. For example Roundcube or horde. Just the name squirelmail and Uebimiau, gives you a "not serious" impression.

1 is BETTER than 2 rediculous ones.

Hi,

only three good webemail software (opensrc):

RoundCube
Horde
squirrelmail (lightweight use)

Why do you feel squirrelmail is only for lightweight use? It has more features than for example, RoundCube, it's got a lot less load than for example, Horde, and when you use Maildir it's incredibly fast, even with thousands of messages in a mailbox.

I'm going to go against the grain here and actually say I like UebiMiau,
I think from a customer PoV it does its job and has a nice interface that ties in with IE/XP graphics, something which most new users appreciate.

I completely disagree with toniramos, I don't think UebiMiau sucks at all. My clients that use it have not had any problem with it so far. It has a nice UI, and does its job fairly well, I'm not to up on the security bugs side, it may have a huge one that will make me change my mind. But the last bug update was yes, around Mar 06, but lots of other softwares release patches alot less frequently. It may be EoL but i still think it looks good, is nice for new customers and serves its purpose.

And I don't see why everyone seems to be calling it the worst mail client ever wrote?

Any opinions now? :) RoundCube became a default part of DirectAdmin and it's included into the CustomBuild script now.

Something else for us to try in our next install :) .

Thanks, Martynas!

I like it as well. However, in addition to the updates situation (I agree, stability is often good, and in fact I run Mandriva 2005 LE on our company desktops), UebiMiau, as installed by DirectAdmin (to use POP3 rather than IMAP) stores email in it's own directory structure, which is not convertible to anything else or usable by anything else.

So it's got a lockin to which I'd rather not expose any additional clients.

I'm a little surprised you didn't get some support on this one. OpenWebMail supports HTML composition, and if I get the patched version, it will do MailDir. It also has auto-login, multiple languages and charsets, strong MIME message capability, full content search, draft folder, confirm reading receipt, spelling check, vCard compliant addressbook, POP3 support, mail filter, antispam through SpamAssassin, antivirus through ClamAV, calendar with reminder/notification, webdisk, and HTTP compression. It has a more functional and intuitive interface of any web mail client with an html interface.

I have used Openwebmail for years and I do not agree. It is a major resource hog for sure.

I guess that leaves only one really nice one, Outlook WebAccess. For our DA servers, I'm back to picking my poison, either Nutsmail! or RoundCube.

Thanks!
