what should I configure for a new server ?

I owned a dedicated server, and installed directadmin. The server will be used for web sharing hosting. (no reseller)

What configuration on software should I need ?
like the server hostname , name should it be in fqdn ? and respect to my own domain ? for example say my domain is webhosting.com, then the server hostname should be svr01.webhosting.com.

does it affect other service operation ? like mail, name server
