I notice a new checkbox: wordpress on the packages. However when enabled I do not see anything related to worpress at the user level. How does this work?

Can you move back and forth between these codebase types? I saw instructions to upgrade to the new license model. But can you also downgrade? This would make testing easier.

But can you also downgrade?
Short answer: NO.
Only a 1 time upgrade is possible, but then you require monthly payment and there is no pause option if you don't need the license for some time. There is no going back and DA won't help you if you did by mistake either, so you're warned. ;)

If you want to test what a modern license can do, might be better to get a personal license, only 5/month and has all modern license options, only restrictions for users and domains and tickets/installation service.

You can use different licenses on a server. For example if you have a legacy license, you can try another license there. Just change the license key in Directadmin. If you want to return back to the legacy license, you can install the old key again.

I can not say for sure, what issues can it cause and what challenges will you face, if you install a MariaDB version or start using other features not supported by a legacy license. I would expect them stop working as soon as you switch back to legacy license.

The extra functions will no longer work in the short term, I have experienced this before with a test server with the Redis function. enabled you will also see a downgrade version in CustomBuild.

I think you maybe might be mistaken as it's said several times that downgrading from a modern license is not possible.
So for this reason I would like confirmation on that from @fln if possible, because before we were told this was not an option and not possible because reverting would not be possible.

I would like to refer to this thread where you can see the system giving this error notice:
This server was either installed or upgraded to a non-legacy code-base. Downgrade to a legacy code-base is not supported.

Also from the docs:
Servers using legacy products can seamlessly upgrade to the unified codebase by applying a new license key. However, downgrading to the legacy codebase is not supported.

Oh yes, ofcourse that is no problem at all, as long as the different licenses are not used on the same server. ;)

@Richard G is right.

If you use a modern license on the server, on first start, DA will perform migrations on the server to enable more features. If the same server is then started with a legacy license, DA will refuse to run because we do not support downgrade migration for the legacy code base. To use the legacy license again, a full reinstall of the server would be required.
