Wordpress e-mails are not sent

Hello guys ,
E-mails are not sent on my server . I get the following error :
2020-03-04 09:43:42 Received from mast**@ma***.store U=mas** P=local S=5681 id=9fa78ff2534af6637026857781086132@ma****.store T="Receipt"
2020-03-04 09:43:42 mast****@gmail.com R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (-53): retry time not reached for any host for 'gmail.com'
What causes this issue?

Did you check your server IP if it is on a black list ?

Actually I got to solve this problem by changing the SMTP port in /etc/exim.variables.conf
there were 3 ports set there 25 : 587 : 465 , I changed it to just 587 and after restarting exim , mails are delivered now .
I guess my server provider ( Hetzner in Germany ) has some sorts of blocks implemented on port 25 to avoid spam mails .

This is not uncommon, Vultr does this as well. Usually you can ask them to unblock it and they will.

No they don't. Or maybe on VPS systems. We have several servers with Hetzner and have no issues using port 25 to send mail.

I have a dedicated server in Hetzner and it doesn't have that blocked port that you mention
